The following is a message that I received as a whatsapp forward from one of my friends. I don’t know who the author is, so am unable to give clear attribution. I resonate with this so much, as this is quite reflected in many of the practices in yagnyashALA.

“Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realisation of how much you already have”

Contentment is often misunderstood for perfection or having everything we desire. Instead it is a quiet profound realisation, an internal feeling which says, what you have, might not be all that you need or want but it is enough…

Contentment is a conscious choice and should not be mistaken as settling for less.
It is just a full stop on chasing more and more to fill a never-ending void of dissatisfaction.

When you choose contentment, you still have bigger goals, dreams and ambitions but you work towards achieving them while being fully satisfied in the present.

Contentment makes you focus more on acceptance with ‘gratitude’ as it’s companion. It helps you cultivate a sense of abundance over scarcity.

Contentment is the inner peace that comes when you stop measuring your worth against someone else’s and realise that you are already standing in the answered prayers of yesterday.
